Becoming a critical thinker in 10 weeks

Dear Diary,

It's summer now in Thailand and it's getting hot & hot. The school finished at the beginning of March & I'm delighted I've more time to do other activities, for example, getting in touch with friends
and doing volunteer activities :)

Not sure if I told you that lately from 7 Jan. - 15 March 2013, I busily studied the Critical Thinking in Language Learning & Teaching, winter course from Univ. of Oregon, America.

I got the E-Teacher Scholarship Training last year which's particularly for Eng. teachers around the world to improve their teaching skills and get an opportunity to learn online with other teachers. In my class, there're 25 participants from 20 countries.

Proudly, this afternoon, I got informed that I got  90 from 100 scores. Now I know how students feel when they get high score; they'd like to tell their friends. Haha... In my case, online diary is also always my choice to put a positive news each day.

I've learned to be a critical thinker and really appreciate this course as throughout 10 weeks, I read reading assignments, joined in the group discussion, did pair work, & small group work. It's such a superb invaluable experience of this year.  I'll surely implement the critical thinking to my courses and spread the knowledge & experience to co-workers & Eng. teachers.  Plus, I'd invite more co-workers to apply for the scholarship.

Mission completed: Visiting SOS Village

Even though most of my time I focused on this course, I still managed my time to do volunteer activity at the orphanage on weekend basis. For this March, I visited them twice already, on 10 & 17 March 2013. Therefore, my monthly mission was completed.

Big step of doing recent voluntary activity: Teacher Delivery Project

I'm going to do a big project with students who're going to help the small scale school which's going to be closed due to the small no. of students in the school. 40 students + 2 teachers + 1 principal.  We're going to ensure the students' parents that students from this school are quality and urge them not to send their kids to another school because if the school is being closed, other poor kids couldn't afford to study in another area. Therefore, on Wednesdays, we'd teach kids there to lessen the teachers' burden and will put an effort to help the school.  This morning, I attended the seminar about the future of the school and we were brainstorming of what we can do for this school. We came up with lots of ideas from Songkhla Forum and school advisors.  Gladly if I could be helpful for this project.
