Fulbright Thailand, main supporters for volunteer work

เมื่อเราทำงานอาสาสมัครที่สามารถโยงเข้ากับงานของ Fulbright Thailand ได้ เราก็ไม่รอช้าที่จะส่งข่าวบอกพี่ทิพย์ (ผอ.) และพี่ปูน ซึ่งส่งเสริมให้ศิษย์เก่า Fulbright ทำงานช่วยเหลือสังคมอย่างสม่ำเสมอ  ในฐานะผู้ที่ได้รับทุนจากฟุลไบรท์และสำนึกในบุญคุณของการได้ทุนเพื่อพัฒนาตนเองที่อเมริกา เมื่อเราริเริ่มโครงการการอ่านเพื่อคนตาบอด ทั้งสองคนเลยเป็นคนที่เราอยากบอกข่าว

เมื่อปีก่อนตอนสอนวิชา Analytical Reading  เราทำโครงการแลกกันอ่าน และเขียนเรื่องร่วมกับนิสิตไปลงวารสาร Fulbright ปลายปีนี้เราเลยต่อยอดความคิดโดยเน้นประเด็นการอ่านเหมือนเดิม ตามประสาหนอนหนังสือตัวเบ้ง 

พี่ทั้งสองยังเป็นคนที่คอยให้กำลังใจศิษย์เก่าฟุลไบรท์ด้วยการเผยแพร่เรื่องราวดีๆ และตอบอีเมลแบบทันใดเพื่อเป็นกำลังใจให้คนทำงาน เราจะจดจำนิสัยดีๆนี้เอาไว้มาเป็นนิสัยประจำตัว

Hi P'Tip & P'Poon,

Greetings from Nok, a former Humphrey fellow 2011-2012.
It's been raining a lot these days in Songkhla. Hope everyone at Fulbright Thailand have a pleasant week.

 I just want to update my news before New Year 2014 about my new reading project that as I'm teaching 'Academic Reading' lately, I've launched a project of reading an audio book for the blind with my 74 students from this course and happily they all agreed to voluntarily work in a group reading selected books for the blind.  We're excited of this program as it's going to be our plan to make it as a new year gift for the needy on behalf of the 3rd year Eng. majors.  I'll collect  the audio books and enclose  a new year card signed by some Eng. major students to the Educational Technology Center in BKK. before new year.

(Two years ago, I sent a story about my sharing book project to publish in Fulbright booklet and if possible, I'll ask 2-3 students to write about their experience again.)

This kind of project " โครงการปั้นฝันด้วยพลังเสียง" should be spread, I think. My suggestion is probably if Fulbright adds this news in the FB page, there might be some alumni do it, I hope.

Nok ka, so good to hear from you and feel the positive energy pouring
out all the time ka. So proud of you ka!

Great project for the kids to do for the blind-- practice reading
correctly too ka. I read a book once and learned a lot from that
exercise. Would love to do more if time allows particularly for
smaller kids.

Keep going na ka... Lots to do!

I'm coming to Hat Yai next year.... Sounds so far ner to give talks
about Fulbright and ASEAN. Would hope to see you ka. Will keep you
posted.

You're always on the move! Congratulations kha! It seems your reading project has been constantly developed while your passion and energy have been absorbed by your students. I can feel their excitement, eagerness and proud about the project and about themselves.

In fact, I've just re-read the article you and your students wrote for our booklet as I was reformatting it in e-book. Would be nice to have Part II of the story na kha. If you and your students can write 1-2 pages about your new project by the end of this month, I can include it in the year-end booklet kha.

Will link your project with our Fulbright Thailand Fanclub for other alumni and our friends who share similar interest na kha.
